Dose anyone know what modifications I need to do to swap in a full size chevy front and rear axels. stering brakes and spring hangers ex. on an 80 4x4 thankyou.

yep thats the point it should be good for rocks and it will look cool but do you have any advice?

don't even bother trying to drive it on the road...the cops will be all over you :lol: narrower axles are better for trails, fullwidth is only really an advantage where you have a lot of room to maneuver

as for the modifications you'll need to ditch the factory suspension up front and run leaf springs, probably need some different springs in the rear as well. and then there's steering, lots of ways to do that. probably be a good idea to use something like a fullsize saginaw box if you want to use fullsize axles though

and just a matter of opinion, if it's not a fullsize truck or a built rock buggy, i think fullwidth axles look like ass

kyle_22r you wouldnt happen to know the guy who owns that luv would you? Did he put power steering in it?

nah, just found those pics on the web a few years ago. doesn't say anything about the steering, just says he used toyota axles and springs and a buick v6

i'd imagine the easy way to do the steering on a toyota front end would be to get a hi-steer kit(puts the tie rod above the springs) and use an '86-95 4x4 toy steering box, which can be easily found with power steering
