custom coils. its so ridiculously easy and really smooths out that rough ride. Rockauto.com sells the Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks in a pair $60 bucks. S-10 shocks are pretty much the same except for the brakets on the bottom of the shock. (or bel-air shocks work as well 53-56) So being creative id thought id give a lil conversion a try. -So i purchased a pair of 1983 S-10 Monroe Sensa-trac shocks front. -When they got here i purchased a skill angle grinder with the metal cutting disc. -Two metal sleves that match the old shock hole but one size up. -Get Another bolt size up thats flush with the new sleve (automotive grade)lock washers. -everything one size up with the bolts and hole size. important info.
**GET STARTED!!!** -I cut the brakets off as flush as i could with the grinder. NOTE:::(make sure you have a big drill bit but not bigger than the sleeve (dont mess it up) just get a bit one size down.so that sleeve fits tight.
**NOW!!!!** -A heavy duty drill is needed to perforn the rest of the task, and thats drilling out a straight hole for the sleves. -after the hole is drilled use and kind of grese or lube to get that sleeve in the bushing hole, i used liquid wrench and a rubber mallet so i didint bend anything. - let it dry -then drill out the hole on trucks shock mount to match the new bolts should use the same bit for everything. - And whala son u got urself a pair of cheap custom coils. Willing to convert some for others jus for the fun of it and to make a lil buck. let me kno. DEREK M.
