Alright so I have a 1976 luv project that I'm working on. The thing is the previous owner tried to make it a convertible...and failed :x. Well I was thinking of just buying another truck for cheap and putting the stepside bed on the truck I currently own on the truck that isn't chopped up. Is it hard to remove the bed and will there be any problems with switching beds? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is my first project and I'm excited about it. Don't see too many luvs around these days.

It's not too bad. It's advisable to take the fenders off the stepside bed before trying to remove it.

my fleetside had 10 bolts to take it off, took about 30 minutes to unbolt and pull it off with a friend helping... i assume the stepside has a similar mounting setup so it should be pretty straight forward once you get under the truck

I agree with this. One wrong move or even grabbing it in the wrong way and you will be kicking yourself in the butt. Watch out for the fuel evaporator(?) which is mounted under the bed on the drivers side out of sight. Also depending on where your truck has been, liquid wrench on the bolts a day early might not be a bad idea!
