 Post subject: rack and pinion upgrade

ok so i wanna do a rack and pinion upgrade. i have a 75 luv with dhp control arms in the front s10 spindles and brakes i wanna get rid of the manual steering and put in a power rack. i have noticed alot of talk about pinto stuff but being in canada i pinto in a scrap yard is as rare as finding a luv which is impossible wondering if anyone else has done this conversion and what rack would work. any help would be great thanks guys

I've done it on a 4wd not a 2wd but the mustang II or Pinto would be a very good one, just ordered one for the mustang II Thursday and it was a manuel and free shipping from e-bay. Do you have a v8 or the four cyclinder?

dont have an engine in it yet, because a 3 inch body drop and had to z the front frame 2 inches to get it to lay on the ground the stock engine was threw the hood 4 inches even after dropping the mounts as much as i could it was still almost 2 inches threw the hood. i am looking for an rx7 rotary im thinkin that will be close to clearing the hood i dont wanna run a cowl hood

I installed a Pinto/Mustang II in my truck in my avatar by making my own mounts you might search my posts and finds pics of the mount.
