anyone know if i can use upper control arms from a '87 pup on a '78 luv?

i noticed in some earlier posts that people have used a-arms from troopers and also '81/'82 4x4 luvs on their '80 luvs. will those also work for a '78 luv? i need to replace my upper ball joints, and it sounds like replacing the a-arms with ones that will accept the 4-bolt ball joints is the way to go.
