My 80 4x4 has one, from a Buick or Olds I think. I didn't put it in though, but I could take some pics. They basically sleeved the cut stub of the original shaft to the tilt column shaft I think.

Well I pulled the chevette column today took about 10 min. was easer then I thought it would be. I have taken out pinkskys column to do a trial fit and every thing look like it will be a go with a little mod here and there. So tomorrow will be an R and D day.

I'll get some tomorrow for ya. I'd like to find out what this one came from anyhow, it BADLY needs a Grant wheel or something. If you hold the wheel and close your eyes you can almost hear Grandma yelling at the grandkids in the back seat.

Ok so I found a better column from a 64 Chrysler 300 and wont use the chevette one. The Chrysler is the style I wanted (simple, clean, no key, just tilt and turn signal) and easier to do. Pulled the luv column out cut it to the length I wanted had the end lathed down to fit the 9/16 Chrysler end. Will use the stock column mount that goes to the floor (cut to fit). Will get an adapter that will step down from the column to the floor mount for the luv. and it will go together like this

Hey cat...was the chevette column a bolt up or does it require some machining? Unfortunately my stepson is far too long legged for the stock column...his knees are in the steering wheel when he clutches or brakes. Until we can get this solved we are at a standstill on the project. Just let Terry know that he wants to change the look to a 4x2...his idea, mine was turning it old school with big-n-littles.
