Hello All. I am a new owner of an 82 Diesel Pup. I want to upgrade and replace the bench seat to buckets. I was given a heads up of this site from a member here (FinalMan....BTW Thanks) that posted over at IsuzuPup.

Looks like quite a bit more owners over here have already done that type of upgrade via their LUV truks. So, I have already bought the seats off of Craig's List. They are from a Geo Metro and wonder if by chance anyone has made the same conversion using those model seats?

Just looking for some tips. It looks like I can unbolt the bench and put the buckets in place using the front outside left & right bolt positions from where the bench was bolted in. I assume I will have to drill holes and bolt in the 3 other spots? Any help or suggestions would gratly be appreciated.

I was going to add a picture of the new seats but dont see that as an option, not sure why not.

Thanks All
Pat

after 5 post it will appear when doing a seat change over you can find the best place for you like if you are taller/shorter you put them where you like then you mark them drill then get big washers for the bottom side so the bolt wont rip out and maybe use lock nuts ok i hope this helps
and welcome to the site

I used wood blocks that I cut to size one time on a early c-10 Chevy truck for a late model bench seat. Worked ok. I would try to use some kind metal bracket. Square tubing or fab something or get someone to help you out. Try to keep the factory seat adjusters if you can, you will thank your self later.

Good luck and have fun with your truck.
Richard

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Hi all, thanks for your help. Rather than repost the whole thing here, (besides I cant post pictures here yet), Here is a link to the Isuzu pup site where I have posted pictures of the bucket seat upgrades.
If anyone has more questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

ok, i cant post links either....so I will post several bogus test messages (to get to 5 posts) then post the link on the last post.

Thanks again all!
