I'm finally going to get my new wheels and tires this weekend for the Luv - if my bank account is big enough  . Anyway, I have the 6 lug on the front that I know I'm getting 15x6 rims for and I have the 5 lug on the back s-10 rear. I want the biggest and widest tires I can run on the back without doing any modifications - I'm thinking 50's on a 10" rim. What's every one else running on the rear as far as rim size, backspacing and tire size?

I believe my rears are 50's on 10 in. rims, but I dont know the back spacing. I do know its not what I wanted, cuz my tires stick out to far, and I have been pulled over by Johnny for it once already  Damn, this pic makes it look as if I have a long bed!

275/60-15's (aka 28x10.5 slick) fit perfect under them with a 15x8 wheel, dont know the rear space for a S rear end (its either 4.5" or 5.5") but thats what size neatly tucks under stock fenderwells. If you dont mind it sticking out some then 295/50-15 on a 15x8.5 or 15x10 wheel. I personally like all my sh!t tucked under though.

Thanks - I want mine to stick out just a tad - I do like your orange luv. Slicks are OUT OF THE QUESTION. I'm going to have a hard enough time behavin' in my truck without adding slicks to the equation

So in my stepside I should have no problem fitting 275's on a 8 inch rim and fitting them under the truck ?

I dont think the stepside wheel wells are any wider than the regular fleet side beds. 275 on an 8" rim should fit no problem

LUVSADRAG: Are you still running the 6 lug pattern ? What offset are you using to get the 8 under there ? Sorry I am such a noob haha.

I run 265/50-15 on 15x8 rallys with 5.5 backspace, the fit nicely under the fender wells with a s-10 rear. The wheels were purcahsed from Pete Paulsen wheels some years back they will build steel wheels with just about any offset. My fronts are 6 lug 15x5 rallys with 195/60-15. I think you could shove a 275/50 on the same wheels without too much problem but If you want to run wider and keep it inside the stock fenders it will take some pondering. :microwave:

nope the stock 6 lug rear end is long gone. It has a Ford 9 with stock ford 5 on 4 1/2 lug pattern. i had it custom narrowed and run a 15x8 Weld Wheel with a 4.5 rear space. no problem on the questions, ask away. i been there done that several times over on LUVs Novas, Camaros and about 40 other muscle cars I've owned (including some Fords).

first I got the 235cc Protoplines with 2.08/1.60 valves. they flow ok out of the box but you heard it hear first..... not nearly as much as they advertise. Got these to flow 340 cfm at .700" 28" H20 (although they claim better flow than that out of the box it took a lot to get it to that number. )

Then i got the 242cc CNC ported RHS heads with chambers with 2.125"/1.60 valves also of which do not flow near as much as they advertise. I was tempted to run these out of the box but instead opted to take them to one of the best head porter in the area to have them opened up. gotta pay to play so I gotta come up with another 1K for the port job. It will be worth it. hoping to get 350+ CFM at .700". Thats should be enough to sustain 750 na HP.

632...not bad at all. I had a 377 motor that made 608HP on iron heads. man that motor would scream 8500 all day long.
