mkay. we got a new to us 10 bolt for the codys luv, but on inspection it turned out to be another 7.5.

SOOO, now hes lookin for another rear for his luv. i need to know everything about a dana 44 rearend. ring gear sizes, ratios avalible, spools/lockers/posis availible, stud patters etc.

i was told that the dana 44 has no c clips. is this true? how much HP will they take. whats the spline counts?

he is in pretty great need of a new rearend, cuz the 7.5 in the luv isnt gonna hold up for much longer.

awsome i thought i was the only one here that was puting a dana 44 in there truck i just bought a spool, gears for my dana. they are 8.5 ring gear 30 spline axles and yes they do not have c-clips i got my dana out of a 73 dj5 mail jeep so i didn't have to cut the housing down this rear should hold 500hp if it is built right. hopefully i will get my dana in my truck in a couple of weeks. o yeah you might have to move the spring perches but thats no big deal. good luck and keep me posted.

If your looking for a D44, you might want to try finding one under a <97 Isuzu Rodeo, If you should happen to get one you'll have very little problems to mount it as the same suspention setup as all of the other older Isuzu trucks and Troopers. I can get you more info on it if your interested.

dana 60 is HEAVY. a 44 is fine for a medium to high perf motor street strip motor.

AMC 20s are great axles. They are stronger than a D44 and have a goofy set up where its not a full floater but the axles dont support the wieght, so if you break one the wheel stays attached. I would run one of those over a D44 anyday.
