will a chevy 2.2 from a front wheel drive car fit and work in a luv ?

probaly not that well. theres lot of wiring that youll have setup for it to work. you have to find a rwd tranny for that motor too. it doesnt have the same bellhousing as the luv tranny.

Are you talking ecotec or the early 2.2's fromthe cavaliers? Either way joe's right, there would be a lot of wiring, plus, this is a FWD motor, your putting it in a RWD TRUCK, it would be a big waste of money anyways, by the time your done you could've made 2 V8 luvs, with power windows, door locks and dual climate control.... my my can't I dream.

well either way i have the engine and its brand spanking new still in the bag , bored .30 over. i have the means to machine an adapter plate if the bolts differ enough on the bell housing . i also have the computer for the throttle body . the reason i ask is cuz my 2.0 luv engine is about shot and im tired of rebuilding the stupid thing. my other option is to a 4.3L v6 but thats still a long ways off

well if you got all the stuff, find yourself a 2.2 rwd tranny from an s10 thats got a 2.2. i bet that would prolly work.
