What truck replaced the Chevy LUV?

I need to figure out what the stock rearend gears are in my 1979 Chevy LUV 4x4, and also the front axle, then i can figure what the axles are....HELP!!!

i dont know if this helps, but a ad i have for a 75 and it list 4.56 as the rear gear ratio.
BUT thats for a 2wd. 4x4 wasnt offered till 79

My '78 factory converted 4X4 has 4.10 gears.
Look for a tag on the outside of the front or rearend.

Is your front axle independent suspension, or a solid axle?
