 Post subject: hooker v-8 swap ?

Hey guys i was just wondering i saw that it says you need a z-28 oil pan to fit the small block in because of clearance issues is this true? Also i am wantting to run the hook headers and i was wondering are there any clearance isssues with those? Thanks for the help

I ran the stock oilpan, and I believe Diarmadhim did also without any trouble. As far as the headers go, if they are for the v8 luv swap, then they shouldn't be an issue. You can't just run any kind of header.

Yep. just a stock sbc pan, hooker mounts and headers. no clearance issues at all, except would recommend an oil filter relocater.

Yep... Same here. Stock pan, Hooker mounts and headers and an oil relocation setup. Dont buy a complete relocation kit. Find an adapter and filter housing. Then get enough oil line and fittings as you go. The fittings from a kit are somewhat useless and the length of oil line will most likely be too short.

Got the Milodon 6-qt pan on mine and it clears everything.

Ive got the hambuger 8 qt pan on mine and hooker block huggers and the filter is in stock place and no problems here ether. :wink:
