What, if anything, from an 85 Pup' 4x4 will work on an 80 LUV 2 wheel?
It is supposed to run good and is pretty cheap. All I am really interested in is the motor. Thanks for any help.

I think the tranny will work from the PUP, you could use the 5spd
out of the pup, I think it will bolt to the motor, but not sure about
the mounts on the bottom of the tranny.

Try asking 800xl, he might know.

As long as the motor is a G180 or G200 it should bolt right up to your 2WD tranny.

I don't know much more beyond that...

85 Pup should have a G200, basically the same motor as the LUV with a few more ccs. There are a few differences, but nothing too important. The fuel pump will be a mechanical pump on the motor, hooked to the front of the head. You can either plumb it in and use it, or pull it and block off the hole in the head. I believe the clutch on an 85 is larger, so the flywheel is different to accomodate that. I think it would still work with the 80 2WD transmission and clutch cable.

As for other parts, the rear end should be pretty much the same, power steering could probably be made to work on your 2WD, and I'm sure there are a lot of other parts that could be of use to you.
