i've seen pics of small block ford engine mounts made of flat plate metal with them bolted to the stock mounts and then the stock frame mount formt he ford welded to the steel plate. sat rather high in the truck though..
would be a little different though

THANKS BOB!!
i just got the ok from the wife that i get to buy a "real" welder so im looking @ lincoln & miller welders she said i can spend 400 on it but i can't decide between stick or wirefeed wirefeed is more versital but i have stick welded for years and havent used a wirefed
might you have any ideas on what models between 78 and fuel injected i can get a motor out of other than a stang or truck i was told "NO TRUCK BLOCKS" in a preivious thread
i want 78 but up to 82 is cool
i got a tremec - 5spd for 300 all geared up and fixin up a longer shifter
i really want to do this ford thing i think it would be a stick out thing to have a luv that roars like a 5.0 mustang i am going to use the same exhaust sysytem off a 5L mustang w/ og flowmasters it will be sweet
hit me w/ any thoughts
im out
me

BTW
i'm thinking i can fabricate a 360ci big block mount to bolt to the pad i have a few around from my baby "THE BIG GREEN MACHINE"
may she rust in peace  i though i was invincible and rolled it off of california state route 39 up at the north end for those who know
it is still up there but is under about a hundred feet of water ( i think ) been so dry might be in mud now beats me i don't go up there anymore
anyhoo the mount has a centered stud on both sides and i can drill the pads to clear and maintain engine height

ill figure it out

The Grand marquie is a great place to look for a 302. There are a bunch of them out there and most had the 302 you are after. Alot of them were old lady cars not raged on like the mustangs.

The crown vics are also an excellent choice for a 5.0 . I had a 1988 model in today for a water pump and it only had 52,000 on the clicker. A real old couple owns it. Looked like they might keel over any day now. Find somthing like that and your in business.

my welding instructor says the innershield is comparable (in most areas) to a stick and a little neater.A liittle easier to maneuver too,the rub is (for me anyway)that an experienced stick welder should be able to use the innershield very quickly. while a novice welder(me) should master sick use to learn the control, hope that helps w/the shopping.good luck!
