My stock [mostly] 1.8 gets about 17 mpg city,could I just rebuild my carb or am I not noticeing somthin . It doesnt burn oil ,timing is spec,msd made a big diff but still seems like Im feeding a v-8

carb is something to check definitely, also may sound funny but check and make sure your brakes aren't rubbing slightly all the time. I need to check the pistons on the front of my 76 come to think of it....

Geez 17 mpg is about what I am getting on mine.... Maybe your truck is trying to tell you something.
