ok i'm gonna say this in simpleton terms...

Is the spline inthe middle of 4th gear the same as the ones in the 5th gear?


In other words, could i completely take apart my transmission and when putting it back together put the 2 gears for 5 gear in place of wear the ones for 4th go, or is there something really simple i'm forgetting....

on most trannies 4th gear just locks the input and output shafts together, no gear used.
