when i mean lots, i mean ALOT. ok my friend got his 327 running and while it was running he checked the oil and there was water in it. they drained the oil. well it really wasnt oil anymore. it was like a grey snot crap. what would cause so much water to go into the oil. he had the block checked and everything turned out fine. ???
oh and pee_roy ive already heard your opinion. mkay

It could be a number of things, but right away I thought of the head gaskets. Were they put in right? Are all the gaskets in the right spots? GOOD LUCK with it.

yes. the head gaskets were on it correctly. could the engine deck being shaved have somethink to do with the fit of the intake? the block might have been shaved. idunno?

Damn!!! Well without being there I am really no help. Are all the bolt ons new? Like the intake and stuff? Maybe the intake has a crack? How long did it run before you guys noticed the water? Did it even have a chance to warm up, or was it right away?

It depends on how much the block and heads were decked. you could possably have a leak at the bottom of the intake. leaking into the lifter valley. I have seen this before when a machine shop angle milled and got the angle wronge a bit

intake manifold gasket. I've seen that happen before.... or coolant coming up the head bolts

nope. its not cracked. the machinist said most definantly it was the intake gasketsa that were put on upside down or ass backward.
sooo he'll be getting his motor back on wednesday afternoon with new gaskets all around. and the intake gaskets will positively be on the right way. LOL
"MANARD" i havent heard that term since i was living with my dad! good times.
