found a deal on the biggie MT's.....for help; have any of you fellow V8'ers got advice on how narrow i can really put the frame rails and stay 'stable'', i ve got choice between a dana 60 and 9" or a 8.8 if any one cares,... my current measurements say i need the frame rails about on 15" centers......do i really need coil over shock or can i double some standards or stick with springs.....motor is a 383 w/6-71 blower so i am not looking for traction(yet)....but i dont want to twist the heck out of the back-half either....thanks in advance,

mine is a 9'' ford at 37" from axle flange to axle flange. i am running the stock leaf springs and regular shocks in the stock mounting brackets. the frame has been cut to 23" from outside spring perch to outside spring perch. home made traction bars from 3x1 1/2 square tubing. my tires are 15x32 on 14.5 wheels. i will try to get some pics on the site this week.
