in the local paper there is a 1992 chevy 4.3 v6, $450, but it is from an astrovan, will this work in a luv? and how complicated would swapping it be? also will the stock luv transmission fit the motor? and help is appreciated... thanks,

Yeah the engine will work fine. Just with some trimming of the fire wall and some other cutting for your radiator (maybe). No the stock tranny wont work on a 4.3. You will need to change it to a Chevy tranny like a th350 or something like that. I dont think the swap I did for my truck was all that hard, just need to make, or buy, some motor and tranny mounts, driveline, radiator and some other things to help with your cooling for it, you should buy a new rearend thats a little stronger, like the one I got is from a S-10 that was a direct replacement and then I put a posi out of a Camero in it, it didnt cost me much at all for the rearend, and you will probably need some extra back tires for the occasional burn outs!
