I have a 79 luv 2wd that i just bought off of the net and am replacing the rotten muffler on it with a glass pack, after looking under the truck I seen what looked like to be a o2 sensor in the area of the cat but not tied into the exhaust sys I traced the wires to what i think is the engine speed sensor, anyone ever hear of this or know what i'm talking about I also have a 79 4wd but it does not have this , help???

Sounds like you got a California truck. They were the only ones with a cat. All of mine have been Federal, so as far as what to do about it I can't help. The thing is called a thermo sensor and should lead to the thermo controller. At least that is what my book says...

ok thanks at least its not a an o2 sensor , i guess i'll just tuck it up in the frame where it was, lol
