Hey dbird,
Your imagination and your wallet are the boundries, But you have to narrow the possibilities down to what you want the truck to do,look, and behave when your done. What kind of rear axle are you going to run? as for the parts your going to need, Well your going to have to fabricate just bout all the mounting hardware. And you will need spring perches, brake lines, steering hardware, among other things...
Hope this helps....

Dave

everyone i know that converted their front end went to a jeep set up. but they swapped both front and rear , to keep matching wheel bolt patterns and gear ratios

I have done a lof of conversions over the years (datsun and LUV) and the most common and easy to find front end is a Toyota. they even handle a decent amount of HP. another good front end would be a Dana 30 from a Jeep. If you plan on putting a crazy blown injected alcohol motor for mud boggin, I have seen places convert a Ford 9" rear end into a severe duty front end. for general use and ease of repair, I would recommend the Toyota front end though.

me personally i would try to find a dana 44 front and a 10bolt rear. Those should be near unbreakable in a luv, and shouldnt be too expensive (most the off roaders i talk to try to run dana 60s and 14bolts). hope this helps and good luck!

by bro ran a dana 44 front and rear on his datsun with a 500hp small block. they held up fine. his other truck had a 400hp motor and a dana 30/44 setup and that also held up fine.

Dana 30 or 44 from a Jeep CJ-5 are the right width. The best ones are from mid-late 70's. Look for rear without the old style tapered axle. (Tapered has a big nut on the wheel end of the axle) You can use the disc brakes and 6 lug hubs from a mid 70's full size Jeep Cherokee to get the Luv wheel bolt pattern in the front.
