Anyone know what kind of set-up this is? The LUV chassis I have ran a 350 in it before I got it. The guy gave me these mounts & said they were used to install the SBC. But they aren't like the Hooker swap in the info section. I know they bolt to the pads on the LUV frame, but how does the SBC mount to them? Oh, its a '77 2wd.

It looks like it bolts to the stock mount pads of a 76-80 Luv but the tube section is odd. It may be that a special rubber mount fits in to the tube section. I'd have to think that it's a custom setup to say the least.

From the way the guy described them, they were store-bought, not custom. I agree w/ the way you think it works, though, Blue.

Let's see if I can try. I had a set similar to those. You would have to remove the old LUV pads while leaving the "boxed" section under them. Then the new mounts would bolt to the front of the remaining boxed section using the two small bolt holes. Those tubes are where the small block motor mounts attach to. You will notice that the tubes are offset to one side and the long side goes towards the front. The bad thing is if you didn't beef up the boxed section of the LUV mount where the bolted to, they would tend to crack from torque and vibrations. Those areas are only about 1/8 inch thick. Hope this explains it...... Oh, one more thing. When I used that type some time back, we remove the rest of the boxed section that didn't support the small block mounts and scewed up big time. The LUV's motor mount system is designed in such a way to also support the shock tower. After removing the metal gussets to the back of those towers, the repeated road use caused both of them to bend backwards towards the engine as the shocks worked up and down. Live and learn....

I tried a Google search on him, but had no luck in finding a site for his products. I did find a Vega swap kit on a Vega site, but they didn't list any contact info for him. Anyone happen to know if theres a site around for his products specifically?

I dont think Don Hardy Racecars has a site. that place has been around for a long time though. I think they do a lot of S-10 stuff now.
