Has anyone just swapped out the chunk in the rearend vs. the hole assemblys. Is their not any gears that can be swapped out of a different V8 rearend like Nova, Camaro...............

the luv rearend is kinda like a ford 9" in that the center section comes out as a whole assembly.
You can put different gears in it, but you still have a weak rear for V8's and violently driven V6's as mine found out.

the thing whith the Isuzu 10bolt axle (whats under the LUV) is the size of the ring gear. Im perty shure its only 7" in diameter and theres barely a quart of fluid capacity in the pumpkin. That means they heat up realy quick whith alot of HP and the axle shafts taper down to the splines vary fast making them weak whith lots of hp too.

You can get a 3rd member out of a mid 80s Izusu pu, some models came with a 3.42 ratio. All you have to do is replace the 2 short studs on bottom with a couple long bolts.
