Which S10 rear end should I shoot for 7.5,7 5/8, 8.5. which one is going to best suit that sbc 350/th350 set up. I've ran across a few. Also is there any difference in the blazer/S10 rearend.

Don't have the loot for a for nine yet, but I've got to det this stock thing out it killin me. How to measure. Does these gears 7.5, 7 5/8 and 8.5 have a specific gear ratio or do you have to put the gears that you want in them.

the rear I have in mine is out of an S-10 truck.

I hear that the blazer rears are a different width than the truck rears.

If you can get the 8.5, do that. It is much stronger and there are actually parts for them. Although I wouldn't spend much money on it myself.
I have a 10 bolt in mine right now w/Eaton posi unit. I've been beating the snot out of it for a while (on the street) and it's holding up fine. It just spins the tires anyways. If you going to try and make it hook, don't waste your money, just save up for a 9 or something equivelent.

The 8.5 has a smooth cover, pretty much round.
8.2 10 bolt has the same shape cover but it has a weird bulge on one side.
If you do a search (Google or?) on 10 bolt rearends you will get pictures and such.
The 8.2 is what I have in mine out of a 66 Nova, so far so good. I have heard that it is much weaker than the 8.5 however. I have also seen some serious power put through the 8.5 10 bolt. The LUV has no weight on the rear so it just spins unless you put slicks or some DOT legal race tires.
Mine has 15x7 w/235 BFG's, it just spins mostly. I did also remove one of the leaf springs as well as the big helper spring. I drilled some new holes in the helper spring and mounted it up as traction bars. That helped a little.
