Hey guys i have a problem that i have got to get fixed, if i don't get it fixed i may be forced to sell my truck  something i do not want to do, but i cannot afford to pay insurance on a truck that is not running, i am at my wits end with this problem and it is driving me nuts!!!!!

when i start the engine up (starts up just fine) and get it reved up the thing starts to sound like a go cart engine when i rev it, i know it's not the carb because i just rebuilt it and there was nothing wrong with it, but i think it may be my egr valve that is not closing fully, but i don't know. if any 1 can help you will be saving the life of my REZLUV from the unthinkable fate of being sold. thanks all

try this.... get a rubber mallet and smack the catlitic(SP) converterand see if there's anything tumbling around loose that could be plugging the exaust.

I dont think it's the head gasket because it was worked on not more than 2 mounths ago but i will check it out to see if things are ok, and i havent driven it hard since then. with the catalatic converter i know thats not the problem because my truck does not have a cat or any other emissions stuff on it, it was all taken off 22,000 miles ago when the engine was rebuilt. thanks for all of the help and i'll keep yall posted,
TJ
