I would buy a 32/36 dgev weber. I have one, with a header, and it is no drag truck, but it can now get out of it's own way.

Weber and header make for a great combo. More air/fuel in through the Weber carb and more burnt air/fuel out through the header. You can get the carb and kit new through http://www.carbs.net or they do show up on ebay for cheaper if you are patient. The header I believe can be had at http://www.jcwhitney.com or anyplace that you can find Pacesetter headers through.

I notice that there is an $80 difference between the manual choke to a electric choke. Is it really that much better? What are the pro's and con's versus the two? I know a lot of people have webers, I wonder which is preferred. Manual or electric?

Also, can you put a pacesetter header on a truck with stock suspension?

I have electric choke, and it seems to work easier than a manual choke. Also, yes. The header will work with a stock susp.

I had a manual choke weber and it was all right. Once you get the specific ritual figured out to start it on a cold day, all will be right in your world.

I had a manual choke. Only problem was remembering to close it when the truck got warmed up. To avoid the extra hassle I'd get the electric, but that is just me.

with the weber carb is that the same carb that calmini sells for the 2.3?
also i have a manual choke, would it be fine to leave it on the truck with the weber? and with the intake manifold were would i be able to get that at, and for how much? oh and one more thing, i want to put ether a Perma-Cool or a Flex-a-lite electrical fan on to replace the mechanical one on there, would it be wise to do that and if so what size should i get, i was thinking ether a 13" or 16" fan would do the job, but i'm not sure about that so any info on that would be very helpful :D

The weber kit for a 2.3L is different than for a LUV. The adapter plate will not fit at all and the fuel line input is setup to come in the other side. (among other things, but those are the major ones) Calmini does have a 1.9L carb kit that should mostly fit, but I'd go with http://www.carbs.net for a weber kit designed for the LUV based on what I've heard about them here and elsewhere. Calmini bumps the price a bit more and you can get a kit designed directly for a LUV, no spare ports added for stuff you might not need. I think some of the later Isuzu kits have the evaporative emissions port on the carb or something.

If you already have a manual choke and can deal with that just fine you can cut a bit of the price on the carb by getting a DGV model with manual choke instead of a DGEV.

On the fan, just measure your fan shroud if you have one, maybe consider getting one if you don't. (Should find one fairly easy in a junkyard, helps pull more air through the radiator) Make the fan you get a little smaller (like an inch) than the shroud, or a fair bit smaller than would hit anything else if you don't have a shroud.

Woo hoo, just ordered my 32/36 carb from Webber! Put a nice little dent in my wallet (im 16), but im sure it'll be worth it... Next comes the Headers, which im thinking about going ebay for... any good/bad experiences? Im just not sure how i feel about putting someone else's (possibly used) parts on the "LuvMachine"...
