Well, I just dropped the 383/200-4R in the Luv, after pullin the stock 350/th350 out.
Since the 200-4R has a really long oil pan - I had to notch the cross member 1", but
now its in. Its just a long block sittin in there now, I still have to take the RPM intake
off the old motor, sand blast it, port it, also the same for the block huggers, then its
just a matter of bolting everything back in, and some new stuff - trans lines/cooler,
electric fan, pulleys/brackets...
I'm also gettin the stock bench seat redone ($150), so I'll have to stick that in, and I had to
send my tach back to autometer since the needle was jumpin around like crazy. Hope to have
everything done this weekend, and have the truck back on the road, if everything goes well.
As long as there's no internal engine problems (it trashed a bearing on the dyno) it should
be good to go. I'm gonna cut the oil filter open after I start it up, that will put my mind at ease.
Now my truck will actually match my board name now.

Its a mellow
383
10.8:1 comp.
HP950
RPM
TFS 215R heads 2.05/1.60 (ported by yours truly - 301/236cfm)
Custom hydraulic roller: 224/224, 568/568, 114LS (idles almost smooth)
Scat rotating assembly.
cheesy - 1 5/8" block huggers
raggedy 2 1/2" exhaust with dynomax turbos.

It should make for a good work truck! :D
I'll keep you guys posted on the progress, how it runs, and some track times comin soon.

I would have thought that some of you guys would be interested in the 383 swap...
but heres an update:
I finally got the Luv back on the road, after some minor problems.
Man it still idles smooth, like the work truck that it is - 2 1/2" turbo mufflers.
I still have to work on getting full throttle (1/4" short, ran out of adjustment), still waitin
for my elec. fan, and need to take it to the trans guy to get the TV cable adjusted right on
the 200-4R. Got the timing around 35deg. but the secondary acc. pump aint really squirtin,
so I gotta fix that too.
But I did cruise it around some and hit it a few times, it runs ok, but I'm not too impressed,
hope its just because I'm getting 3/4 throttle, it feels like a 12sec. car, but I hope I can get
this thing lined out on the street, and get it ready for the track. I'm hoping to get it down
the 1/4 mile once soon (even in this Texas heat) for some shake down runs. Its gonna
be a dog of the line with the 2000 stall and 307 gears, but I hope it runs decent mph.
I'll let you guys know how it does, and hope to have some pics of the truck.

Once we get some cool weather later this yr, I'll do some track tuning on it.
