I've heard people say that the linkage is backwards on a weber so you have to fab new cable mounts. Would this solve that problem?

The linkage direction is correct on a DGV, it is just the mounting hardware for the part of the cable that doesn't move can be tricky. On the stock carb, the cable jacket bolts right to a bracket on the carb, but the weber has no such mounting. The full kit for a LUV comes with a bracket, but I've heard it is less that optimal. (Never had one in my hand to say for sure)

I believe a DFEV would have the linkage set up for a cable pulling from the passenger side, which would be backwards from the stock carb. Routing a cable like that would take some creativity I'm sure. I could be wrong on exactly how the DGEV/DFEV differ though as it is hard to tell for sure from the diagrams I found at http://www.redlineweber.com

I had a dfev and it is set up kinda funky, the fuel inlet will be toward the cab and the linkage is toward the front of the truck. So I sold it and got a dgv, didn't want to get creative :D

The DGV and DFV are just mirror images of each other. the ev or av just means water choke or electric choke. They make both just for that reason depending on which side the intake is on. On the whole cable deal. Webber does make cable adapters to go on both dgv/dfv. Subarus (i'm pretty shure) and a bunch other use cable pedals, so I know webber makes adapters for them. But if you hae an agreesive cam and what not, look into the DGAS carb same style as the DGV but it has two 38mm venturies that open at the same time where the DGV has 32/36 mm venturies that open progressivly. DGAS is a way better carb in my opinion
Hope the info helps.
Dave
