It all depends on the motor itself. The only reason to install 2 carbs is if the motor needs 2 carbs. If the motor is stock and the original carb is a 2bbl, it would be smoother to go with a new intake and a 4 bbl carb. That's a quick way to gain more power. The 4 bbl will have to meet the c.f.m. requirements that the motor can handle. Installing 2 ea. 2 bbl carbs would be trick looking and all but finding a dual carb intake might be hard to do. Also getting both carbs to work uniformly will keep you busy. A dual 4 bbl setup usually is found on engines with forced induction (Blowers and such). It comes down to the c.f.m. requirements of the motor. If there's too much carburation for the application, you'll lose power, it will not function smoothly and you'll waste fuel. Just adding another carb to the motor will not help.
