hello members, another question on converting a v8 dragger into a street version, the garage is having a really hard time finding a suitable way of mounting the alternator since we had to use a short snout water pump, can any of ya'll remermber what brackets you may have adopted to install your alternator, as always, thanks in advance

Both of mine use/d the long thin, curved bracket. But you have to get it bent down where it mounts or like the one I have on the truck now, with a spacer welded on it. Mounts on the drivers side btw

The best one to use is off of a 68-72 I think it is chevy truck with a v-8 . It makes it out of the way of everything and you can use a electric water pump if you want to .....

this one will work with the short water pump. the only thing I dont like about it is the belt is kinda long so if you spin the RPM up high then it might toss the belt. I personally use a low mount alternator bracket like pn 9758 here http://www.tdperformance.com/TransDapt.html that I modified. there is no belt adjustment though. I had to bump the belt on and if I ever need to take it off, I have to cut it.

Image c in the link was the one I was talking about. I does require a fairly long belt though.
