Did chevy build the S10s from 83 up themselves or was ISUZU still involved? I have a diesel and tranny from an 82 LUV 2wd that I'm looking for a truck to put them into. It's been hard to find any Isuzu trucks in this area but there are lots of mid-late 80's chevy S10's. Thanks for any help.

i'm pretty sure all the motors used in early s10s except the 2.8 v6 were isuzu engines. they started going away from that when they started using the 2.5 iron duke and dropped the diesel though

82+ I wowuuld have to say that GM did thier own frame design...the reason I say this is that guys on here that have the pre 81 luv have made mention that the frame was boxed from the factory. I have an 84 isuzu pup (same as 81 Luv) and the frame is boxed on it. The S-10's I have worked on have always had a c-channel frame...I'd say get yourself a welder and at that point anything is possible.
