I have been looking into this a lot lately, the housing is about 150, but most places do not shorten stock axles anymore, they just replace with new bigger units. To do it right is not cheap. I found one in the recycler, 9" narrowed by Currie w/31 spline axles, 54" width, perfect for a LUV; 300 bucks. I missed it by about 20 minutes, someone scored big time.
Otherwise, realistically, if you have a complete rearend and you do axles/labor to cut/new bearings/locker your lookiing at about 1000 bucks, thats to do it right and all new parts.
Does this Currie company have a website, if not a phone or mailing address?
We ended up finding a 55 T-bird, Dana 44 thats 51 inches width. No shorting involed.
