#8 cyl header pipe wraps around the frame and i was wondering if anyone is just clamping it in to place. I've already had to change out the starter once and it looks like the only way to get the starter removed was to pull the #8 pipe. Is there a way to pull the starter with the header welded?

no don`t weld the pipe you need to be able to remove it. i don`t run a clamp on mine either. i haven`t had any problems with it leaking there. i run a mini starter and still have to remove the pipe to put it in.it seems dropping it in from the top is about the only way to go.

I took the truck to the muffler shop today to get the exhaust tied in. I got a clamp for #8 anyway. Now the truck is quiet. It wants to run hot but i think i know why. I got more things to do tomorrow to get things straightened out.

I'm running hooker headers on my s-10 blazer 4x4 350 swap. And mine aren't welded or clamped and there is no leak yet.

I did a 350 swap on a 4x4 blazer several years ago for my X-girlfriend. wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
turned out to be nice. painted the engine purple for her...lol
