I can't personally tell you what it takes, but this might give you an idea.

A bunch of time, money, sweat ,tears, and 2 trips to the hospital.

The first thing I recommend is to get rid of the torsion bars. I used a Mustang ll front end and think it was the best thing I could have done. I chose to go with manual steering and it drives great. I went on about a 300 mile trip last weekend and had no problems with anything.

The second major area is firewall. I moved mine way back and this helps to put the weight on the whole truck. I cut the firewall out and mounted the engine and built the firewall back around the engine.

Third problem is headers. I did not have the funds or patience to build a set so I bought 68-70 Nova and made them work. I had one tube in the way. I figured since I alredy had tubbed and put the front end in ,Why not move the frame and make a set of standard headers fit. I dog legged the frame on passenger side and after I was sure they would clear I bought a set of coated headers. I have 3" exhaust all the way.

I used a Art Morrison crossmember and removed all of the torsion bar crossmember. I built mounts out of tubing and bought poly mounts .They are Factory replacements for late 60's or early 70's Chevy's.

Radiator is full size Chevy Truck 3 row and I am Going to go to a 4 row . It never ran hot until last weekend and then it got hotter than I like. Traffic was at about 1/8 th a mile a hour.

I have put a couple Thousand miles on mine and it is fun to drive . I see you have aleady found the pictures and if you have any questions let me know. Scott

Im going to build a race truck out of it, but is there a way to put my 427 in whith out changing the stock front end? Its already set up for a 350/350. I know i'll have to cut some of the fire wall out for hedders but im worried about the trying to bolt it up.

It can be done but headers will be a nightmare. A web site was on here but I can't find it anymore( Igor & something racing or something like that .) They are in Indiana and it was a drag truck with stock front end. They made the headers.
I think even for a race truck that the front end would be best changed and less wook than headers. It gets rid of torsion bars, gets you rack and pinion steering, updates to a front end you can get anything you want for,(drop spindles /coil overs/ wider or narrower control arms/ tubular control arms/ect. ) It is a bolt on to get 11" brakes. I would have to look and get the bearing #'s but mid 80's Camaro rotors are a bolt on and they sell brackets for the calipers tha bolt on.

If you go with stock front end think about at least going with coil overs.By getting rid of the torsion bars you free up a ton of room for exhaust.

Like the Competition Engenering Coil overs, I was thinking of using those anyway. I dont know alot about a torsion front end, if I go with coil overs can I get rid of the torsion? l

Yes,They are your spring (sort of) on the Luv and coil overs will eliminate the need for them.
