I just bought a '81 350 4-bolt for my luv and I'm looking for a trans and a rear,I heard that the pinto 8'' will work, is this true?The horse power will be in the 290-300 range. A T-56 manual trans will be going in and I was wondering how much tunnel beating I'll be doing.Im going to buy some sanderson block hugger headers and do you know if they will clear.I want to put a short water pump on the engine but will it fit the 81?

my 8" came out of a v8 maverick. im not sure if it was narrowed. the former owner ran 12.50s with no problems. if you need me to take measurements let me know. bryan

There have been other posts about these rears which swayed me to buy one( actualy got two ). 8" rears were in Pintos, Mavericks, Mustang IIs and equivilants. All you need to do is move the spring mounts and run a wheel with 5.5" back spacing.

What lug pattern is on these and are parts available (gears/etc). That would sure make it easy?
