depends on what motor you are running, unless you are producing some serious horsepower i'd use the 350. i personally think its a little more reliable. i had a friend with a early 80's chevy pickup, with a 454. he had some serious power coming from that motor and was using a 350 turbo. they are tough little transmissions. probably also easier to make the 350 fit in the luv.

If it matters to you at all...i think a Turbo 400 will cost you time in the quarter mile. And like 81luv4x4 said, unless your making serious horsepower the Tubo 350 would be just fine. Oh and by the way were only talking like maybe 1/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile.

i heard that you can build 350's to be stronger and shift harder than a 400. just make sure it has oil, and full of it too, because they sure hate to run low. if you put one of em in, and it takes longer than maybe a second and a half or two seconds to go into reverse, it is either to low on fluid, or it is totally junk. i have put three th350's in my pickup, (not the luv, another pickup) and whne it starts not going into reverse to well, it is junk.

Lookin threw the paper today it looks like the 400 is worth a little more money. Around $200 for a runner. Didn't find too many 350's. I measured the 400 compared to the 350 and it did seem a little bigger but, to me not enough to matter. Well maybe ill use the 350 and sell the 400. Thanks for the input!!! :D
