 Post subject: wheel studs

how many of u actually have had to change ur wheel studs on the rear end. i broke 3 on the passenger side rear today after getting back from the junk yard i was so pissed. i was tryin to take that tire off just 2 double check that these rims i got so i can lift iwould fit and the broke when i started un screwing them. but n e ways how long did it take u to do this. i almost have the axle shaft out i just have to get that pb cable off and i got it out but i cant get it out is there n e tricks u guys could share with me so i canget this done as quick as possible thanx

I have had to trill out all of mine and installed ARP press in ones, have never had a problem since, did the same on the front wheels.

if you are asking about the parking brake cable, there is an easy way to get it out. Take a box end wrench that just fits over the cable end next to the backing plate. Slide it over the fitting holding the cable in the plate, it is a tight fit, but WALAH! it will come out.

if you need the parking cable off just do what i did.just put on the parking brake and pop the clutch :lol: .i snapped mine the first time i got behind the wheel of mine

Our local track required me to upgrade the wheelstuds so I bought some Mr. Gasket 1/2-20 "long" studs. I had to drill out the axles first and then they pressed right in.
