 Post subject: hooker mounts

just put 327 with a glide in my luv need to weld the mounts in but motor doesn't sit level. i jacked the motor up and it hits trans tunnel i pounded on that twice. also i cranked the torision bars up getting close but purches are getting farther away from frame. any ideas

The motor doesn't really have to sit "level". If its angles back a bit thats alright (like tranny tail shaft is down and front pullies are up type idea.) If you look at most factory installed engines in cars and trucks they tend to have a bit of tilt towards the back. My sbc in my luv doesn't sit level it sits tilted back a bit and there has been no problems, and as far as i know it won't create any....maybe somebody else can tell me different though...... :?

As long as the angle isn't too severe it should be ok.
Did you make mounts or use hookers or what?

the motor sit in there just fine and mounts are being welded as i type this thanks for your imput i was being anal a little slope will be just fine
