Sometime ago "Luv4theluv" stated on here that he is running vortec heads on a 91 chevy V6 with a Comp cam 270. The 96 and above true Vortec heads have non-adjustable rockers. My 91 v6 4.3l has a roller cam with hydraulic roller lifters. Comp cam said they don't make a cam for non-adjustable rockers. What solution for this issue is out there. My rocker studs are threaded both ends but I can't locate replacements. Is anyone else running vortec heads with a roller cam? Any help would be appreciated. Bob

Just a little update on my V6 build. The block has been bored .040 over and aluminum pistons installed on a polished stock crank. Comp cam 270 is on its way. I just picked up the vortec heads after they were boiled and magna fluxed with no cracks evident. I will now port and polish the heads and then return them to have the valve job done. The reason I brought them home before the valve job was completed was due to the large amount of grinding debris while doing the porting. The machine shop will clean the heads again when I return them. The Comp cam will accept my stock roller lifters and push rods but not the stock rocker set-up. The Vortec heads have non-adjustable rockers, just tighten them down all the way with no adjustment. I have to install different rocker studs in the heads which allow me to run stock chevy adjustable rockers. The stock Vortex heads already have threaded rocker studs so installing after market studs is an easy swap. The tranny is done and the rear end waiting for new calipers. I'm going to pull the whole front end off to install the motor and trans. I'm 76 and leaning over the fenders and working underneath welding motor mounts in is not one of my strong points. I tried teaching the wife to weld, she gave up on that when her shirt sleeve caught fire and singed her hair. I'd rather work alone anyway. Any questions I can answer, just ask, Bob

I don't remember doing anything special with rockers. Installed ls6 blue valve springs, compcams retainers and reinstalled the stock vortech rockers from what I remember. I will have to browse my build thread. Far as I remember they just installed with the nut on top no adjustment needed. Been fine for years
