Whats the easy way to remove a th350 transmission from a 1980 luv with a chevy 350/th350? I dont see me like removing the whole engine and tranny out. I think my torque converter is bad. No whinning noises but for some reason there is not enought power to the wheels. Th350 works fine oil level good. A friend told me that sometimes the tranny filter gets clogged and that can cause no power to the transmission.

Depends on the install. I have a removal crossmember so I can pull the trans out with the engine still in. Usually without a removable crossmember it's easiest to pull as a unit.

I modded my cross member on my street LUV when I did the swap, and I just pulled and reinstalled the 4L80e in it. If yours isn't modded, I suggest doing it while everything is out...

How do you modify the crossmember? Bolts?

I cut the center of it out, leaving the torsion bars in place. Plated the ends, then made a cross member that bolts in out of some 2 x 1 x 1/4 channel...

Remove the trans mount from the trans , un bolt transmission , slide trans back , drop bell housing down , pull the converter , install new converter , raise transmission , bolt up trans , reinstall rear mount . Done it many times with fixed crossmember .

You should be able to pull transmission itself. Must be the short tail TH350.
Remove starter, distributor, trans mount and adapter. Loosen from engine mounts. You may need to remove radiator.
Unbolt transmission, converter from engine. Slide it back, remove converter, then nose trans down an out.
Like we use to do the Stingray Corvettes.
It is easier to just pull the engine and trans together, change trans and put it back in. About the same amount of time.
