New to the site. Finally popped the cherry and got my first Luv ;) Wanted one since forever. I happened across an extremely straight 4x4 with almost no body damage or rust, couldn't pass it up! My plan is to ditch the front diff and go SBC 2WD V8. Is this more trouble than its worth with this chassis? Would I be better off to drop this body on another frame? Thanks in advance from the Great Pacific Northwest!

IMO Yes. The front driveline will cause major oil pan clearance problems, a lot more stuff has to be cut away & tossed or otherwise modified than on a 2wd.
A complete functional 4x4 chassis should be worth more than a like 2wd.

I just went through the same thing. Luckily I found a guy willing to swap me frames.

Another alternative would be to use a Mustang II front end, but that would require a good deal of fabrication
