Popped the valve cover to see what it looked like inside, and tore the rest of the accessories off so I could clean and paint the block.

Since I won't be using the power steering or vacuum pumps that ran off the cams, I made blockoff plates for them.

Saturday was beautiful out, so I gave the block another scrub down, and hit it with a coat of paint. Also did the valve cover in VHT wrinkle finish. Turned out pretty sweet!

Negative. This thing is going to be as simple as it gets. No A/C, radio, ect.

I want to keep it as light as possible without going to crazy, so anything non-essential is getting tossed.

Gotcha I'm excited to see the engine sitting on the frame. I bagging my luv right now and if your engine/trans choice doesn't fall below the frame I'm going to have to do this also.

Scored a set of MG bucket seats for this. I think they fit pretty well.

Got some more things for the motor. Exhaust housing, turbo manifold, and wastegate all came in. Ordered my turbo, which is currently backordered. Also had a 90* elbow made to bring the turbo placement up and in your face.

Got my transmission a while back also, and currently have a line on a bellhousing. Just waiting for the guy to pull it so I can pay him.

Nope! It is going to slow down now that the weather has turned. House projects take precedence. I also pulled my other truck out of hibernation, so it has been getting some attention since I neglected it all winter.

My '09 5.3 Colorado. Cammed, stalled, bolt-ons, tuned. Its a fun little weekend warrior.

Finally got a bellhousing of of eBay, so now I can mate the motor and trans.

Also, my turbo finally showed up after being back ordered for almost 2 months.

How similar to the LNF blocks are these? Do they have the same oil pan? I've been kicking around the idea of a 2.0 turbo swap. We have a second gen Cobalt SS (turbocharged), and it's an angry little car. I can only imagine what that kind of power would be like in a RWD LUV!

Same motor for the most part. This is essentially an LSJ (supercharged variant) that Saab threw a turbo on. I wanted to go with an LNF at first, but they are pricey, and this motor ended up being "free" once I sold off parts from the donor car.

Not really. I put the body on the frame so that I can dolly the truck outside when I need garage access.

Found a Dana 44 that I think I am going to use for the rear end. Just need to go pick it up.

Not yet. Still focusing on the house and Colorado for a couple of months before I get back onto the Luv. I have been acquiring parts and information still. Got a brand new windshield and found a solid back window.

Sucks that Photobucket wrecked all of my build threads across many forums. Greedy bastards.
