hi i have a 1980 chevy luv 2wd short box, i just bought a complete v8 conversion kit from http://www.powerbyace.com, also i have a 1998 silverado 2wd vortec 350 with 4l60 auto. my plan is to swap the motor, trany and rear differential from the silverado to the luv. i would have a custom made drive shaft. any ideas or opinions about the silverado rear differential?

The rear end will be much too wide.

By rear diff a am assuming you mean full axle because a Chevy diff won't fit an isuzu axle unless the rear axle is already swapped to a gm unit. And that axle will be way too wide to swap without being narrowed
but the engine and tranny swap should go very smoothly with the PBA kit

Edit: looks like he beat me to that

Did you purchase a trans mount for the 4l60. The one for a th350 is different. I have the ace engine mounts and headers in mine. I modded a tube on the driver side as the plug hole spacing is slightly different on a vortec and the plug boot wouldn't clear. I emailed him about that and a pic too some time back. He was going to mock it up and check. Hopefully it is upgraded now.

Narrowing the 10 bolt will work good . The e brake cable will need some thought out mods , but very doable . Since custom 30 spline axles will be needed I would opt for c-clip eliminators . Might be the same price as custom c clip axles and way safer if an axle breaks .
