Thanks for the story and pictures! Very nice truck and they are fun to drive with a V-8 pushing it along!

I have a rotary switch on my yellow truck , no biggie . Don't sweat the small stuff , youll get the details figured out as you go . Also I just went 1.57 60' on slappers last weekend . Slappers work good .

This is an awesome story! Are you running stock front shocks and torsion bar setup still?

Do you have much body roll or does it hold it up pretty well?

not sure if it has roll or not...only been on the track. Not much roll on a straightaway.

Great job and congrats ! A lot of people don't know how much work it is to put a truck together and then take it to the track and win . It is a big accomplishment .

I agree, a lot of work, and I have only witnessed a few friends do it. I am still in the works to build mine.

Not to hijack your thread , but this IMO is the best level of drag racing . I have the most fun sportsman racing . Show up, keep it full of pump gas , t-shirt, stock seat belt, easy on parts . Good stuff .

Hijack away :) totally agree! Once you figure out the its not the fastest car (truck) that wins and the only one that will beat me is...well me. Its a blast. Drive to the track, change tires and give it hell. I know there are a lot of racers that thrive on the tuning, set up and getting the most out of thier car and that is awesome. I just don't have the patience for that, wish I did. If you are even thinking about going out to your local track, DO IT! Everyone has had their "first" day at the track and felt subconcious about messing up. Don't sweat it. Have fun.

Very good advice right here . Last year at the beginning of the year a buddy of mines son was out watching . I told him he should run DOT with his 98 explorer . Said he couldn't afford to . I bought his tech card and paid for him to be in points . When he won he paid me back . He was DOT track champ this year . Good kid and had a blast with a stock wore out explorer .

Thats what i am talking about. We had some kids drive almost 150 miles in thier little imports to race. Never been racing before. Helped them out with the basic stuff...where to line up, how to stage, where to get their time slips ect. I even helped him out with interpeting his time slip...
I lost to him in the finals by breaking out. DOH But they had a great time and will be back, and that is what makes racers family.

Well, race season has started. Woohoo! Went up to Renegade Raceway in Wapato, WA. Just outside of Yakima. Weather was fantastic. The little Luv did what it was supposed to do. Ran 13.2's all day. Made it to the second round of finals. Ran a 13.23 on a 13.20 dial. (Actually impressed myself) A little slow on the light with a .061. The guy in the other lane cut a perfect light and got me at the line. All in all was a fantastic day.
