Wow, what a trip. I just joined that site an hour ago to get some info on my rear end. Then I just now look at Luvtruck, and here is your post. 8)

Just went out and checked. Of coarse mine has no tag. I mean why would anyone keep the only way to identify a part on the part itself.
I need wheel cylinders and shoes for this thing but don't know what year Ranger it is out of. :x

I bought brakes yesterday, but it is too hot outside to want to instal them today. I have the 8.8, with 10 inch brakes. It's been welded, ghetto posi, and I have yet to open it up to see how well it was done. I hope it hold up for a little while until I can build a narrowed 9 inch posi. I this one still works at that point, it will be for sale.
I'm told that the8.8 is a good one for general V8 street cruising.

Some fairly fast rides with the 8.8. It is basically a 12 bolt copy IMO. The explorer rears are 31 spline, and most have a posi. You can put 9 inch ends on it and that will eliminate the c clips if you want peace of mind...

Yeah I have heard a lot of good things about the 8.8s behind mild v8s.? Explorers are a good bit heavier than a v8 luv
I am gonna try to hunt down a D1 code exploder 8.8, the 3.27 is the highest gearing I can find with the limited slip. I'm sure they will be incredibly hard to find so we will see. There are tons of exploders in pick pulls up here I found a few with the l/s 3.73 and discs and I only looked at a couple
