alright guys I finally got a few minutes away from the baby to go pull the carb off my truck
info is already in my sig but this is a 500cfm edelbrock (weber) afb, mech secondary but with the weighted flap they have..
at part throttle it runs great, really responsive and good torque and pulls hard, i can feel the change when it gets to the step in the needle still pulls good up to around 3k little over depending on throttle position. i feel like the pair i have in for that are pretty good, without a wideband o2 sensor or a very experienced tuner i wont mess with that part for now.
BUT... as soon as i put my foot farther into it and the secondaries open it falls completely flat on its face, almost 0 acceleration, it sputters and just does not want to go any faster. it doesn't backfire it just hits a wall and doesn't want to rev any higher. im trying to figure it out am i going super rich or super lean at this point? i made a nice graph of the needle and jet combinations with the open flow area of each combination so i can pick a point however far in either direction that i need to go...
if anyone could give me an idea of which way i need to go with it i can take it a couple steps whichever way and see if it gets any better...
