2inch and 3inch were the most popular. The 4x4 trucks had ifs on them, so a body lift was the way to go. I had a custom front bumper so the lift did not effect that. I think we just moved the rear bumper with some channel and plate. No one made anything for these trucks like the new ifs Chevys 4x4 trucks. We could build the same for our trucks now that we see how it is done. But a lot of people just go soa and use Toyota or Jeep axles
If you only move up 1" it might look ok like that, if not you should not need much work to move the bumpers up too. With the 3" lift you were working at the limit of the 4 wheel range shifter and the tranny shifter. The 3 " may have came with extensions for the transfer gearbox and shift rod. You won't have to worry about any of that with your build.
