Sorry I don't frequent this site much I am on of those isuzupup.com guys that has so many diesel trucks that I embarrass my wife. Well I think I have decided to do a V8 conversion on one of my trucks. I have a 1988 s-10 that belongs to my son. He is in the army and he has always wanted a v-8. I know the s10 would be a simple job and they make kits. But the truck so nice with the 4cyl iron duke motor I would hate to ruin it. I do have a 81 luv frame and body I could use. My question is how hard it it do do a conversion on the luv truck? Has anyone on this site done one. Thanks tt

I don't think it is any more difficult then the 1st gen truck.

For me I would make my own mounts. I did mine so I was able to put my engine where I wanted to and make a removeable trans cross member. I think it took me 3 hours to build my own. I set my engine lower and back more then the hooker mounts and was still able to use the hooker headers without any modifacation. I know a few other members made their own as well without any issues.
