You realize what you have is not factory, right? That is, if you're in the U.S.

I'm not sure about the 4x4 transmission, but no diesel was offered in the 1st-generation LUV

So, assuming you have the 4FB1 engine from either a Chevette or an Isuzu I-Mark, the MSG-5 5-speed 4wd transmission should bolt right up, except that it's longer than your 4-speed. You'd have to relocate the transmission mount and shorten the rear driveline. I'm not sure about the front driveline position and length relative to the 4-speed.

Finding one of those transmissions is a challenge, because they only came behind the 2.3 engines and were only offered in...1986 and 1987? (check with oldestisuzuist to be sure).

Since this is obviously a retrofit, I suppose it's possible you have a divorced transfer case, for example from a Suzuki. If that's the case, ignore the above--that's another matter altogether.

According to earlier posts you said the motor is a 4FB1, so it likely has the stock 4x4 LUV transmission. You'd have to look to confirm that but if that is correct then finding a replacement should be much easier than finding one that is diesel specific.

There is a 4x4 4sp tranny for sale in the Classifieds section for cheap, seller does not list his location, so who knows about shipping?
