I believe the fox body rear is 59" axle flange to axle flange. The sn95 models are 3 inches wider.

not sure, im looking at probably getting a s10 rear axle in September or so, trying to track down with with the 3.08 gear because doing 2600rpm at 55 with my 4.10s gets annoying when the speed limit gets to 70
I have heard the tbird ifs 8.8 rear mentioned as being pretty good

Try 4:11 like I had in my 65 tempest w 14" tires. Made no difference with the stock engine or the big one I built. 3800rpm to run 70mph. You doing the right thing. I think the stock engine could Handel it. I don't use mine for a truck. That's what my 3/4 ton is for.

On 12 bolt and 10 too I think a series 2 carrier can use any 2:xx gear set. You will need to run a series 3 carrier to run any 3:xx gear set. And a series 4 carrier to run any 4:xx gear sets. Some one will correct me if I am wrong. It has been a zillion years since I had to deal with GM gear sets.

You will need 2.5x-3.08 for 2 series 3.23-4.11 for 3 series and 4 series for 4.56 up
